Black Tile House
Louise worked on a beautiful listed village house, serving as a liaison between the architect, builder, and client to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the renovation project. Her responsibilities included assisting in the design and sourcing materials for the interior finish of the house, which involved a new kitchen, bathrooms, and Bauwerk lime paint finishes throughout.
The project was difficult and exacting, particularly because the front of the house, a timber-framed structure clad in Mathematical tiles, required stripping and restoration. These tiles were handmade by a Sussex craftsman, adding to the complexity. Despite these challenges, the end result is stunning.
The contemporary extension, built from knapped flints by a local craftsman, beautifully contrasts with the period front of the house.
